Mission

    The Project " Aboriginal dogs of Azerbaijan " has the purpose to draw attention of the public to Azerbaijan type of aboriginal caucasian sheep-dog . 

Caucasian sheep-dog is national riches of Azerbaijan Republic. 

During centuries in Azerbaijan there were traditions in cultivation of these dogs, rules of carrying out of the dog fights on the eve of national holidays. Oustanding sheep dogs- champions passed in category of cultural wealth. About them there were legends and passed from father to son. 

 The tasks of the project include the description aboriginal caucasian sheep-dogs of Azerbaijan, traditions of their cultivation, methods of selection used by shepherds.
